Oklahoma Bash
1 Attachment(s)
Who all in the great state of Oklahoma, or those that live close enough to visit, would be interested in startig a OK Bash? We have a decent amount of members spread throughout our great state. Not to mention our greatest contribution, Cowgirl!
|
As with most I'm interested, depending on date and location.
My calendar can get quite busy! |
Any areas around Lake Eufaula with RV parking/camping and a pavilion to cook at?

Hope y'all make this happen. Would love to add it my Bash list (done 3 states but have 47 to go).
One of the suckiest things about 2020 was having attended zero bashes which just ain't right! |
Set the date far enough out and we’re in!
Why did this bash thread get moved from Qtalk when the other bash threads stay there? |

If you plan one they will come. Unless it's Dennis that is planning one for SC, then for some reason no one wants to come. :noidea:
But I'm a definite maybe. |

That would be conveniently straight up the road for me too. Depends on when and where, I could be in. |

We need to pick a date and location. Also we must remain aware of how sketchy the weather is. May is usually good temperature wise, but also a bad month for planning due to graduations. June can be good as well.

I did not move it. I simply suggested it would be more appropriate to create a new thread in the "Brethren Bash" forum dedicated to an Oklahoma Bash. If we keep posting on the OK Bash thread it will stay up top when most look at the "Today's Posts" on the Quick Links drop down menu. That's how we have done it for the past 4-5 years. Once date and location for the Texas Bash are selected I would let Ron_L and or Phil know that I'll be posting an "Invite" post on the QTalk Thread about 60 days before the Bash. As not to post against the QTalk rules without approval. As QTalk is all about: "*ON TOPIC ONLY* QUALITY ON TOPIC discussion of Backyard BBQ, grilling, equipment and outdoor cookin' . ** Other cooking techniques are welcomed for when your cookin' in the kitchen. Post your hints, tips, tricks & techniques, success, failures, but stay on topic and watch for that hijacking." |
I nominate Jeremy to host the bash!

Seems like we have a lot of folks in the Tulsa area and quite a bit in the OKC area, with a handfull of us stragglers here and there. What would be a good central location everyone would be willing to travel to? I know for me, If Im going to Tulsa and making a full day out of it, I better have a place to lay my head for the night, lol!

I agree great idea. But first let's try to shoot for a Spring Bash. I think we are going to have to get some of the Tulsa area folks to help scout out and secure a location unless someone owns some acreage that would like to host. Robert |
I'd sure come if date is one I can make.
|
I could make that Bash! May bring LuzziAnn if there is a hotel nearby where she could plug in her hot rollers. Once y'all decide on a location and date we'll look into it.
|
Gonna bump this a little! I don't know if its Election fear or Covid related but we sure aren't getting any traction on this thing.

If you have some that want to attend, go ahead and create a signup sheet so you know who will be going, maybe going or cancels.
I put the link in my signature line so it is easy to hit it! (I have one for Texas. I can set one up for Ok if you like) Pick a date and location. Then post an Invite about 60 days out in the QTalk. You can then work the post it the QTalk forum. I've pm'd the ones on the BBQ Brethren map around the DFW area in years past to see if they were interested in attending. Let me know if I can help. |
Thanks Hotch! Appreciate the help and insight!

Hope Fatback Joe can make it so he can put up a video to "I'm Coming Home" on his Tik Tok page

I think when the Chicago bash started, there were very few people, heck we only get around 15 people every year and it's been going on for years. But it's a bunch of fun. |
Only if it is clothing optional.........well, with a mask, of course.

We're there! A warm March might be good if we get one, and April-May are always iffy because of the twisters.
Sounds good! Arlin |

If you can attend a bash that has Arlin on the guest list, you have definitely been to an interesting bash! Miss seeing your regularly, brother. |

There is a member and good friend here that has not been active in awhile. He and this site taught me to BBQ. He now lives in Tulsa. I can give him a call to see if he can scout locations in SW OK. if you want.

Any bash that can bring Arlin out of hibernation is off to a good start!
Met him a couple of time at restaurant get-togethers when it was taking us Texas farkers years to get a bash organized. |

Well chit! I meant to say South East OK. Wife pointed that out tonight. Just FYI. |
