Memphis Pro Pellet Grill

Looking for feedback on this cooker. I'm looking for something to replace my Traeger at comps, and have considered the Yoder 640, but the weight of that unit concerns me. This unit comes in at 214 lbs. I'm planning to cook chicken on it. It looks well-constructed, and it looks like it holds heat fairly well.

I love my Memphis Pro! It is very well built and the double-wall construction of the firebox helps it hold heat in all kinds of weather. It is also extremely even across the cook surface. It's also very versatile since it will cook at temps from 180 to 650, so you can use it for Friday night steaks, etc.

We haven't cooked on the Memohis Pro pellet cookers but we do cook all 4 categories on Green Mountain Grills and have been happy with them. Just another option you may want to look at as ours travel very easily to and from the contests.

This is my latest cooker. Cool thing is the built in dolly to move it around. The sliding door keeps the heat in for quick recovery. http://mygrilla.com/

Memphis Pro is a good cooker too. Larger cooking area than the Grilla. Grilla is around Weber Kettle size.

I sell them...Actually the number one dealer in usa...yeah..THey are very cool cookers that can get very hot...maybe a little light on smoke...the MAK is pretty cool and makes more smoke expecially the one star. We cooked chicken and pork on the one star...I think we we 22nd overall in kcbs inchicken and 32 in pork....

We cook our chicken on one Kevin. In my opinion the Memphis pro is the best cooker in its class. Its got a far superior controller to anything else out there, is insulated, and built like a tank. Set it to a temp and its going to stay there no matter the conditions. Go for it, you won't be disapointed!

I've used the Memphis at the culinary center where I teach at.... it is ok, I'm using a YS480 on a comp cart for chicken right now.... and I can also attest to the MAK 1 Star. We should talk about how you do your chicken and that might make one stick out over another. As far as travel/comp use, It's hard to beat the yoder. it travels much better than the CS and Traegers I've used.

he is also sponsored! by me too.....I bought my one stars!
