My Daughter is a PelletHead (almost)

My DAU and GrandSon were here awhile back from OR and she fell in love with my PG500.
She has always been a grill girl and has worn out several gassers over the years.
So, I bought her a PG500 of her very own.

It arrived late Monday.

Yes--that is a "party hat" on top 8)
She is "stoked" about her new grill.

Due to work and family stuff, it will be a few days till they get it unpacked and ready to go.
We have been doing phone call and email training on how to cook on it and get the most out of it.
She is catching on quickly.

Will post more as it progresses.

Proud PAPA here! 8)

I was gonna say something similar, but decided not to mess with a potential (I'm assuming Kapn has a few hours in these...) former Cobra pilot...

Plus, he is pretty close to you in Florida. I am all the way up by Chicago. A Cobra can't fly that far.....:-P

Great gift!

You're a good dad, Kapn!

Hope she enjoys the new cooker, and I can't wait to see pics of it.

Not that it matters, but YUP--"oddles" of hours in them. I was an Attack Helicopter kinda guy for almost my whole career. 8)

We also sent her a care package.
Some Plowboys Jerk which they fell in love with while here. She is going to be using McCormick's most of the time. Readily available and not bad seasonings overall.

A second (she has one already) Taylor remote thermometer with a spare probe. I heat shrinked both probes for her.

A ThermoPen.

Three BBQ cookbooks with a big WARNING. Told her that most of the recipes were way to complicated and to use them as a "concept" and for ideas only.
She is gonna be calling me before she ventures into new "recipes" for meats, fish, veggies, and fruits. I am "hammering in the basics" of cooking, so she will be self-sufficient quickly. 8)

Gonna be fun to watch her progress.

Wait! Now I get it.

"No desire to BUY one"...
That was a key phrase. :becky:

Glad she has a daddy that looks after her best interests in spite of herself. :thumb::thumb:

Can I be your son and get one of those from you?

That is awesome that you have her started on the road to bbq obsession and what a great tool for your first smoker!

What happened was that she went home and cooked some ribs and appetizers (with my 9 y/o GrandSon's help/supervision) in the oven like I showed them on the smoker.
Kids apparently got all over her to accept my offer so they could have "real" BBQ like GrandPa TIM makes. 8)

Time will tell.

Well now. That was pretty humble.

For a pilot.

Seriously though, good on you.

Way to go, Kapn!

That's an excellent gift with the goodies thrown in for good measure!:thumb:

Once you get used to home cooked barbecue, there is no other way.

Nice to see that "The Jerk" is getting good use. :thumb:
