Gator pits on discovery
Anyone else watch the Discovery channels show on Gator pits [ king of the grill ]?
|
I tried, but when I saw the mom wanting to wash the son's truck because the son was too busy I changed channels.
|
Is it a new show/episode?

Caught the end, but had to turn it off.... the fake "drama" in the editing was over the top.
I was hoping for better. |

It didn't quite add up, that would be 20-guys working 12-hour shifts over the entire week. And he conveniently forgot that they were having their huge community BBQ that week too? I know that they set all this up for TV but this was just way too much bullchit to be even remotely interesting. |

show
I tried but it seems like a cross between American Chopper and Duck Dynasty. Without the good parts of either one.

Its the same old thing Fast and Loud, OCC, Overhaulin any of the motorcycle build off show all have the bogus dead lines with no time, yet in the end they all manage to bring it in on time.
Tv use to be my friend but no more. |

So you are saying I didn't miss anything

You didn't miss anything - Have to say, even if he got the pit built on time, showing on national tv that you ignore phone calls from your client asking where you are when you are about to deliver, would make me NEVER want to buy a pit from you, no matter how good/fancy it is. That's just not a good way to show how you do business.

I actually enjoyed it. Maybe I just don't watch enough TV to be so weary of the formula. Yes, it was obviously contrived. Yes, they packed it with enough quirky stock-characters to broaden the appeal, but it still held my attention for most of it. I think this was probably a pilot episode. Don't know that anything'll come of it, and don't know that I would "follow" it if it did...but then, like I said, I don't watch that much TV to begin with. If you've "work" of some kind or another to do but enjoy breezy entertainment in the background to periodically tune in and out of, this'll get her done just fine.
