How to build an egg cooker on the cheap...
this is a great idea for building an Kamado style cooker for a little over a $100:

UH-OH!!!!
Can you say: "New Brethren Hobby"? It looks like he used regular silicone around the intake, though. I'd bet a smokey joe charcoal grate would work for the cooking grate, no? Still.....ingenious! I want one! Thank you.....now my wife will OFFICIALLY hate me.:heh: |
Hmm...that might be my next BBQ project when I get my patio/house back (divorce in progress). Don't worry though...I brought my UDS with me to my "temp housing". :)

Wow ! That is great ! :clap2:
Here we go again, with the Brethren on this, I cant imagine how cool this idea will grow !!!!! |
That's very cool!
|
Instead of "Build a UDS!" it will be "Build an egg!" It is cool and I like it.
|
I'm looking forward to the posts in the future about brethren who try this and to hear their results after cooking with it. I wonder if the glaze on those pots is toxic, or if the paint can really handle 500F, or how accurate you really can control airflow...
Perhaps this will take over the UDS in a few years in terms of popularity.... |
I think Norco should build one
|
That's way cool! Only concern is the cracking of the firebox so quickly...
|
Awesome build for a little grill! That would be a perfect cooker for someone in an apartment or with very little space.
Tres cool. |
Nice work.
|
I now know what ill be making friday :)
|
this is a takeoff on the flower pot smokers that made the rounds a few years ago. The one concern here is the glazing. The terra cotta pots are not glazed.
|
Let the builds of the FPS (Flower Pot Smoker) begin!!!:thumb:
