Extreme BBQ Trailers weight
I'm buying a new RV in the next 12 months. The models I'm looking at all seem to max out at around 500lb of tongue weight and 5000lb of towing capacity.
I'm looking at the 8.5x20 standard Comp trailer. What's the rough weight of that trailer at delivery? I'm also interested in both the model above and below it depending on weight. |
You will be close to the 5k max, my 7x18 is 3300lb empty....

With more quality comes more weight unless it has a LOT more cost. Maybe the 7x16 will work as long as I'm careful on smoker selection for the porch. |
I think the biggest key is whether or not you plan on permanently mounting your cooker on the deck. On my first Extreme, I rolled them out the door, securing them over the axles when we traveled. On this one, I opted to permanently mount them on the deck. The weight on the longer trailer, may affect the balance, front to back.
Fortunately both cookers weight about the same, doesn't throw off the balance at all..... |
What kind of truck are you towing that with?

RVs are mostly (if not all of them) using aluminum frame and studs. The manufacturer also takes a lot of consideration to having them properly balanced from the factory.
Most BBQ type trailers are built using steel. |
