KC Transplant
Full Fledged Farker
I'm building a reverse flow smoker and while I was cutting out the firebox I had an idea. Maybe good, maybe bad. So I thought I'd post it here for some feedback from people more knowledgeable than me. I left a notch of the pipe attached when I cut it. About 6" wide by 11" long. It will be the same shape as the opening from the firebox touching the bottom of the cc on both sides. My thought is that it might help with evening out the temps on the firebox end. I may cut it back to around 6 inches depending on the feedback. I know the baffle plate will even out the temps too, but I got this idea and couldn't let it go. I'm trying to post a pic because I'm not sure if I described it well enough, but so far I haven't been able to. I'd love any advice before I go any further with it. Thanks in advance.
