Storage for comp equipment
We have been using plastic boxes and other ways to keep our equipment (knives, rubs, rags, and other items) but that has proven to be pretty cumbersome and in the interest of making my lazy life easier I am trying to find a better way. My first thought was a chest style tool box but I have sides on my trailer and that means either lifting the box out of the trailer each time or losing the space at the bottom of the chest. Any ideas from other competitors about a good way to keep stuff organized? My cooker is not a walk on and is on a 16 foot trailer.

I have thought of making a box similar to the old patrol boxes we had when I was a boy scout

I thought about buying a couple of these this year as we just use the plastic tote bins and I get tired of digging through the bin looking for stuff at a comp.

I use a 3 drawer one similiar to the above from Wal-Mart for $20. It sits nicely on a prep table and holds all my tools.

If you have room you could use a 40 inch intermediate tool box. basically a big drawer. Lockable.

Got a bakers rack on wheels with a truck cargo net wrapped around it.

Just taking notes.... is that where your Jack is as well? In case of a earth quake and I need to save it!!! |
Stanley fat max tool boxes are pretty sweet too.

I keep my little stuff in a cheap carry tool box from HD. just big enough for
Rubs Guru stuff Knives headlamp Thermopen Gloves lighters cigars travel sized dish soap couple garbage bags helps you remember to not bring the kitchen sink |
We use a Sterilite 4 drawer cabinet. Rich built a dolly for and it is topped with butcher block. The pieces are not attached so it can be lifted in pieces. This holds pretty much everything.

I use one very similar to this and it works out great.
It won't hold everything you need though. At least it doesn't for us. Quote:

I do use a fatmax for stuff that doesn't stay in the trailer, rubs, knives, thermapens, etc. I use this one http://www.zorotools.com/g/00058569/k-G2402574?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=cpc &utm_campaign=Google_Shopping_Feed&kw={keyword}&gc lid=CPv-3dSus70CFUNqOgodbzsAUQ |
I picked up one of these Rubbermaid work carts from Menards on red tag clearance for $170 plus a $18 rebate at my local store. I figure I can strap a cambro on top or a butcher top
