This is spot is advertised for miles up and down HWY 380 as the real deal. Today the wife needed some peace and quiet after working the night shift at the hospital so the kids and I went on a little road trip.

The gas station/fried chicken/bbq place is like a Love’s or Flying J’s setup , just smaller. My expectations were low and it was met.

I asked for a 2 meat plate of moist cut brisket and ribs. I declined the sauce and I regretted it. I didn’t even have to ask about the hickory they are using. Strong smoke taste but the texture shows it has been foiled for a real long time into pot roast territory.

Ribs were my favorite of the two.. a bit spicy with no rub texture. More like a paste. This is what happens when your spices are finely ground. The meat came cleanly off the bone so there’s that. Hickory was stronger on the ribs.

Sides are the quality of Luby’s or Grandy’s. The kids and I still ate it.

Looks like the meats have been held for a really long time.
