Rib Rubs

I am looking for a rib rub that I can buy online and give as a gift to a guy just starting out on BBQ. Any recommendations? When I first started I used Obi-Cue and liked it.

Obie-Cue is good stuff. Dial up www.butcherbbq.com and grab a bag of the Honey Rub. Great on ribs and butts.

There are a ton of them out there, Plowboys is OK. I have a favorite that i don't think any here is using. Made on the west coast of Florida by a lady i met a food show.

It's Basik's, maee by Heide Basik, http://www.backtothebasiks.com/spices/

she makes four different kinds and all are good for all types of cooking, not just Q

Good luck

Smokin Guns has a great rub. Try the hot, it's not really hot, the label just says hot. You can get Smokin Guns rub along with a whole lotta others at:
HawgeyesBBQ

We have a lot of Brethren who make and sell rubs. I would suggest that you try some of theirs.

I've tried these and they are all great!

Spicewine Hen and Hog Dust
Plowboy BBQ Yardbird
Simply Marvelous Sweet and Spicy Rib Rub
Butcher BBQ Honey Rub

There are others that I haven't tried as well.

And, you can buy all of these from more Brethren!

Cimarron Docs Sweet Rib Rub is good as well, and you can get it from a fellow Brethren here: www.greatlakesbbqsupply.com

I hear those guys are great!!

I've been a fan of Sucklebusters Hog Waller rub this spring. Yesterday a neighbor told me they were the best ribs he'd ever had.

I don't know that he's ever had non-chain ribs before, though, so your mileage may vary.
