I got the base grate and the cast iron sear insert and it's great.

Sears meat really well and cleans up fairly easily.

I did hot and fast beef back ribs and lobsters with apple wood.

I seared the ribs and moved them to the outside to roast indirectly hot and fast. The temp gauge was pegged and they cooked in about 45 minutes. I put them into a pan with Cabernet and braised them for 3 hours at 275. Delicious!!

I put on some 2lb lobsters, too. I started the claws on the sear grate and moved them to the outside and put the bodies on the sear. Again, perfect.

I highly recommend the system, especially if you need a new grate. I plan to test it with my wok and cast iron dutch oven to see if they fit and how it works out.

Hey Big Barry, It looks nice, but if I may, your link sends me into a new browser window. Royal pain to get back. Photos imbedded in your post make it much easier to view. Just my .02

How much did the stuff cost?

Looks great. I got the system grate with the sear grate too. All I've done on mine is some ribeyes, but I love the way it sears!
