Best of the Best Comp in Niagara Falls NY 08/15

Going to try this comp next weekend to see if we can win an invite to the Best of the Best.

http://1411.foe.com/

Last time I spoke with them they were up to 25 teams.

Anyone from the Brethren going to be there?

acorette 08-10-2008 01:55 AM

Nope, first I've heard of it... Many brethren in this neck of the woods are headed to New Paltz for the Hudson Valley Rib Fest, same weekend.

Look at the rules of the contest very carefully, it is not a KCBS Event, there are some differences

Diva Q 08-10-2008 07:52 AM

I have never done a no garnish 3 meat only contest -even the turn in box size is different. Should be interesting. If anything it should be fun as I know at least 6 of the teams that are going.

Nice that its only 1 1/2 hours form my inlaws where we drop off our kids though :-) Thats a huge benefit to us on gas.

I can't get the link to work, but sounds interesting, would like to learn more.

These were the hardest turnin boxes I have ever done. I don't have any pics because I think I re did them 2-3 times each before turning in. Thinkgs kept moving around. At lease I know what to expect for Georgia.

Congrats DIVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally love the format for the BOTB events.
"Pick your best 3 of 5, no garnish, large boxes, and--go for it!"

There was one of these "qualifiers" around Atlanta earlier this year which fell through. I was Psyched to do it!
I think Kell is onto a great sanctioning opportunity and it will develop great for all of us that love to cook.

We will be at Douglas and cooking in the OPEN.
Look forward to meeting you there.

If your need logistical support--I have a thread here that offers it to folks that have to travel a long way. I will post the link when I get this mess posted

ON EDIT---Linkie is here:

Good Luck,

Hey thank you for the offer Tim I appreciate it. We are hauling a 18ft Traeger Canada trailer with us that will be loaded to the top with all the stuff we need to do The Jack and the BOTB. Traeger Canada is kind enough to drive it down to the Jack for us then we will pull it the rest of the way to Georgia. In between we are visiting some friend in Georgia and seeing some of the sites. Of course we plan on hitting a few BBQ locations as well. Another team from our area Simcoe County Smokers will also be competing at the BOTB . They are a couple of really great guys I am sure you would like to meet as well (Tibor and Jim) We are certainly looking forward to this road trip. Round trip for us it will be 2500 Miles.
