French Salad Dressing on chicken???
I used "California French" dressing as a BBQ sauce on smoked chicken breast last night..........And it was good.Add it like you do BBQ sauce (15-20 minutes, before you remove it).

I'll give that a try. Thanks!

I started using Kraft french dressing as a dipping sauce for fried chicken when I was a little kid and we ran out of ketchup. My whole family does it now. Never tried it as a cooking sauce but I'm going to do so now.

My dear departed mother loved her chicken cooked that way. I would chop up some garlic and onions - soften them in butter then mix them in the French Dressing. I would cook the chicken up to around 165 then dip the chicken in the sauce and place back on the grill for about 15 minutes to set the sauce.
If we were BBQing for 25 people we still would set two thighs aside and fix them for mom - one thigh to eat then and another to eat for lunch the next day. Thats all since she did not want to be seen as a hog eating too much. |
Really... Chicken?
French dressing is used on pizza!!! :caked: |
We do something similar with Catalina. Marinade for a day or so, grill hot and fast and baste frequently. Using tenders for a catering works great for the kids or people counting calories or managing portion size.

If you can find it, la martenique French vinaigrette is the bomb as a chicken marinade. After you marinade with the bottle, put it in a pot, boil it and mop with it! Phenomenal zesty zingy chicken. It has fermented vinegar and gives a very unique taste to whatever you put it on. Great for calizones and oh SALADS lol

One of my favorite Dutch oven recipes is chicken parts covered with a thick layer of mayo and garlic powder mixed together. Don't forget your Lipitor! :becky:

I used to marinade in Catalina dressing, thought I was the only one. My mom loved Catalina dressing.

I was skeptical until I tried it. Good stuff. Just have to crank up the cooker after finishing the cook to burn everything off, and watch for flaring with all of the oil in the dressing. |
