Quick Quest, When (time before) should you inject??

Hi guys, 1st Brisket day today. Just made the run. Wa wondering, I going to cook at 1pm. Its 9am now. Im doing a 4lb flat. Decided with your guys help to inject. Just finished making the rub, going to rub and oil now.

Should I inject this thing now or just before I put it on the smoker??

No time to search.

Inject 4 to 8 hours before cooking. For brisket, rub after injecting or, my preference, 30 minutes to an hour before going in the smoker.

I have injected at least 4 hrs before and > 12 hrs I put on rub after injection and again before smoker
