$180 shovel

Went out to buy a shovel today - went to the local TruValue store.

Grabbed the shovel, it was $9.99.

Stopped by the BBQ displays (as I always do) to see what's going on
there. They had a WSM marked down from $239.99 to $199.99. As
I'm looking at it, taking my time, developing a strategy on how to
convince them that amazon.com has a free shipping, no tax price of
$179 and that they should match or beat, etc., etc., the owner walks
by on his way to lunch.

He says "Can I help you?".

I respond (after realizing he is the owner) "When are they going on sale?"

He says "I'll sell you that one for 20% off"

I say "So what's that make the price?"

He says "$159.99"

I say, realizing my strategy is now shot all to hell, "Got one in a box?"

He says "Nope - that's the last one - and it's already assembled"

I say "OK"

So, with tax, the shovel cost me $180. And I feel I got a good deal on it too.

Now the bad part. While carrying the WSM from the driveway to backyard I dropped the farking lid. It did a near 180 and now has a slight dent and a baseball size area where a bunch of enamel popped off. Oh well. The dent is up near the top, so, should be no effect on the cooking performance. A little 1200 degree paint to stop the rust might be in order, but the cooking side is fine.

Now.....what might there be in the freezer............

A shovel in Richmond?

Did you buy some of that spray on snow for your lawn so you'll have something to shovel?
