Camping Trip Pron: Grilled Boneless Leg of Lamb on an Open Fire
Took a trip up the coast last weekend for a relaxing camping trip. Didn't take nearly as many photos as I would have liked, but still snapped out a few that I wanted to share.
On night 2 we had grilled boneless leg of lamp marinated for two days in EVOO, LOTS of garlic, fresh rosemary and oregano from the garden. Here's a pic of the firepit as I built up a nice hot bed of coals: http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/a...HotFirePic.jpg And here's two shots of the lamb from different angles: http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/a...ambOnGrill.jpg http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/a...OnHotCoals.jpg Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics of the meat after it was cooked, but we served it thinly sliced on piping hot fresh pita, topped with onions and tomatoes, and a cucumber yogurt sauce. It was REALLY good! Thanks for checking out my lamb cooked on an open fire! :-D |
Looking outstanding, Moose! Where did you camp?

Mmmmm....the ingredients sound Greek!
These pics will do...:becky: I hope you had a great time! |
Awesome! Hope you had a chance to relax and recharge the old batteries!

Damn fine camping food! :clap2:

Hmmmm . . .
Lamb gyro-type sandwiches . . . I bet my (Arabic) in-laws would love that one. I could use that to entice them to come along on one of my camping adventures . . . See what you did Moose? Now my in-laws are going to crash my camp site. |
