BBQ Chicken Pizza Part 8
Remember I had 2 thighs leftover from this cook?
http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=224501 Well today around 12:00 I made up some pizza dough. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1716/...b1595e67_z.jpg Around 5:00 I got a chimney of lump going on my side burner. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1638/...2c92940b_z.jpg I poured it into my kamado and set it up for a pizza cook. While it was coming up to temp I went in and prepared my toppings. (Husker wanted some chicken!) https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1456/...26e2e1eb_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1635/...0c1b0e46_z.jpg The dough had easily doubled in size. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1661/...72e8e7ff_z.jpg I divided the dough https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1628/...c9cd7987_z.jpg and rolled out 1 half. (My wife wanted me to cut it into a perfect circle so I did) https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1706/...30a0a9ca_z.jpg I place on all the toppings. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1458/...b722bbee_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1497/...0cb37183_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1496/...747970d7_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1486/...cebedcb2_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1683/...e59dc30c_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1703/...df0efaf1_z.jpg This is when I had to improvise. Some of you know that I’m getting my home redone. Well I went to go get my pizza peel and it wasn’t there. We looked all over and couldn’t find where we had packed it so I had to make do with what I could find. Here’s how we did it. I took my 2 largest spatulas and slowly worked the pizza onto the bottom of a platter with parchment paper. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1443/...fc1bb428_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1569/...5ebc46c0_z.jpg I took this out to the kamado and use it as the peel. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1528/...b24af25c_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1571/...9489b03d_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1521/...7206b40e_z.jpg Kamado was up to 600 degrees so I cooked for only 6 minutes. Here’s the first one. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1541/...2be0662a_b.jpg And here is the second one. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1514/...307188d8_b.jpg With perfect crispy crust. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1501/...717b038d_b.jpg Delicious. :becky: Thanks for looking. |

bbq chicken pizza is so good! Glad you mentioned that you cut the perfect circle, I was thinking man he has some killer rolling skills
|
Did you use some wheat flour in the dough? May just be the pic, but I thought I saw some flecks. Wheat flour tastes great on the grill. Pizza looks great.
|
Right now pizza is sounding good for breakfast. Great looking pies.
|
Those pizzas look really great.

I'm always looking for good pizza dough recipes, especially ones that can be done same day and turn out thin and crispy. Mind sharing yours?
