According to their facebook page, BGE has introduced a new, larger, Big Green Egg. No specs yet but looks like it is around 26" diameter. Looks pretty massive. Must weigh around 200 lbs.

BGE: XXL (Double XL) introduced today

Wow!!! Wonder what that bad boy is gonna cost??

Jaskew82 03-14-2013 09:15 AM

The XL is 24" and 218lbs so the XXL is probably 26 - 30" and 275 - 300lbs.

Hexis 03-14-2013 09:33 AM

I'm hoping for more like 30". ~ 700 sq in v. ~ 450 on the XL. That seams worth a separate model. 26" would be ~ 530, that seams like a waste. 28" would be ~ 615. That's a pretty big difference too.

Now I gotta start warming the wife up to the idea...

I'm willing to bet you can afford a new car before you can afford one of those!

fingerlickin' 03-14-2013 09:47 AM

Great now I can't say mine's the biggest anymore. :tsk:

silverfinger 03-14-2013 09:47 AM

Looking foreword to seeing the specs
I always felt the largest one they have now is to shallow,
making it so you have to have a heat deflector in order to slow cook on it.

Smoothsmoke 03-14-2013 09:56 AM

looks huge

deepsouth 03-14-2013 10:05 AM

awesome.

Wampus 03-14-2013 10:09 AM

WOW....one more smoker that I'll want and won't be able to afford. :twitch:

OK so unless this picture is a joke, this thing is MASSIVE!

Jaskew82 03-14-2013 10:41 AM

The above picture is probably just a one-off for the show...

bigabyte 03-14-2013 10:45 AM

Better be REAL careful about burping THAT one!:scared:http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/fi.../hair-fire.gif

More info on BGE site. From the site:

"Chefs and backyard grillers alike will be astonished to see a stainless steel cooking grid that measures 29.25 inches / 74.3 cm in diameter for a whopping 672 square inches / 4336 cm2 of cooking area."

My XL is a baby compared to that monster!

With St Patricks Day quickly approaching,
Where did they find the Leprechaun to pose for that picture?
And is that big green thing behind Him filled with Gold?

I think I want one!! Any clue when they will hit the Market and what the price will be?
