Finally finished the UDS, here are some picks of seasoning burn and some chicken, fatty and a ring of sausage. Hated to waste all that good heat and smoke. :-D

Yum! Great lookin' grub. Nice drum too!

Thanks ya'll .... the fatty split but it was a quick roll so we could eat dinner. Better next time for sure. I also wanted to thank all the brethren for the uds threads ....what a great cooker for so little work and money!

Congrats!!! The feeling of pride and accomplishment abounds when the uds first makes smoke.

Everything looks good except that little bitty ice chest. When you took the two beers out, it was probably empty.
Slow and low requires a much larger unit for holding adult beverages even if you are from Texas.

Small ice chest for wifes wine coolers.... bigger ice chest (not pictured) for beer!

that looks like some good grub.

Tex, that some real good looking Eats there on your first cook. And a sweet looking UDS you made. I just scored a 55 gallon Barrel Extra Heavy, not sure why, but it weighs a ton, was filled with Commercial Grade Latex Paint for Concrete, had removable cover and lock ring. paint was used for DOT Bridge. Guy said he had 12 more he needed to get rid of, was an out of State Contractor .they do have a red coating inside.

The smoker looks like a great piece of kit.

And those look thighs so good, im starvin now.

Thanks,

Neil.

That Chicken looks to have the elusive "Bite Thru Skin"
Awesome Job and DrumPit!!!!!
