spots right on Tiger Lane and those spots look to be around 32x70 per slot! Very very nice upgrade in square footage.

very jealousn nice size lots,

We're right at the top left in front of the stadium. Not a long walk to the judges but in Tommy Lee we were kitty corner from the turn-ins

Is anybody concerned with brown out for the power, running on generators and there are some very power hungry teams that may overwhelm the system...

Should we be considering back up generators for ourselves.

Mike

Are you on Tiger Lane (Lawn) in front of the stadium, or over in Whole Hog Row?

Are we sure they're running this off generators? All of TIger Lane is wired nicely. Perhaps only generators for the outlying teams in the parking lot? I've got to think that between the Tiger Lane and tapping into the Liberty Bowl's circuits, they've got to have the ABILITY to run off the grid vs Generators. If not, then who knows about brownouts. We ordered two 20A drops (down from 3 last year) but we'll be powering:

Lighting & Water Pump on our 40' Double Decker Trailer
Full size side by side fridge
Two LARGE flip top deep freezers
Large Kegerator
Full Size PA w/ Dual-Amp Rack/Mixer/2 JBL Tops/Monitor/and an 18" Sub.
Two Sound-activated "Night Club Lights"
Plus the usual odds and ends....

No idea what we are on... As for location we are in Mini Rib town top and right of tiger lane and the first row in front of the stadium (very far right parking lot)

I'm not concerned about other electrical but powering the pellet cookers and the trailer fridge and at least one cook light is mandatory.

Thinking the backup might be a good idea, still itís a lot of space for travel

Iamarealbigdog: Mike it sounds like you are very closed to us at Too Sauced To Pork (R-119). We are on the last row closest to the Coliseum. What is your number? We will be loading in Saturday. Come see us when you get in. We can help if you need any.
Thanks

New flyer for the team done up by our boys at Harvest Creative in Memphis. We'll have posters available at the tent. Nice retro look suitable for framing.

Thanks and for certain. Definitely swing by for a beverage or two and I'll introduce you to the crew.

Mike,
Thanks! I'll definitely be by to say hey to you guys. This year we'll actually show up for judging so you guys don't have to come tell us we missed our chance to walk in Ribs because we were still drinking and socializing at the tent.

Does anyone know if there will be water hookups for all sites or do we have to cart water from a few central locations?

Thanks

I know all "tiger lane" spots have their own water. I'm assuming they will have water sources for the other teams. If for some reason you can't get water elsewhere feel free to come by our spot. It's a hike but a reliable backup.

Awful quiet in here leading up to gameday.

Everyone loaded in? Let's get some pics of the setup?

I've started streaming pics of gear and whatnot at http://twitter.com/slabyomama for those who want to play along.

Looks like we're going to load in the major stuff tuesday with the rest coming in Wednesday. Our trailer is in place and that's about it thus far. We're holding off on dropping all the good stuff till we get a day or two closer to showtime.

How's everyone else doing?

EXCELLENT! I walked over and said hello to a couple people on Saturday morning but I was going on about 2.5 hours of sleep so I don't remember. I'll swing by and ask for you later this week to introduce myself. You guys look to have a pretty damn nice setup! Should be a good time. :thumb:

Congrats to all who had a good showing out there. We had a blast over at Slab Yo Mama despite a VERY disappointing finish in Ribs. Not to lay blame but WOW did we get shafted by Curlys.... two cases for competition cook and we could only salvage 6 slabs that were even worth putting on the smoker for that batch. Boo.

On the plus side, we took 2nd in Anything But : Seafood with our Shrimp Grits topped with carmelized onions, bacon, and chives. 0.3pts out of first place.

We had a great time being next to GetYourRubOnBBQ / BossPit crew. Very good neighbors who came through with a sawzall and a case of water on separate occasions. We tried to reciprocate with a case of Zing Zang. A few of those guys came by to watch the Grizzlies win on our DirecTV setup. Great time by all I think!

A side note: I have no idea what happened but things got out of control (In a good way) Thursday night. We plowed through almost our entire weekend's stock of vodka on Thursday night. 36 1.75L (The Equivalent of 84 standard "fifths") in one night. That was on top of the other drinks/kegs. Crazy times....

Slab Yo Mama - thanks for sharing the pix! The band you had going was very good - I stopped by for a moment and enjoyed - it was quite fun!

Smokin Barry - was very cool meeting you - enjoyed chatting BBQ and catering with you at the Norwegian's tent - it was a very cool conversation and to see someone from so far away from the US doing BBQ and apparently having quite some success at it - thanks for stopping by!

Thanks vexter! Unfortunately our space (right next to judging) was a curse as we got shut down an hour or so into the set. Oh well. Next year hopefully we'll be farther away.

For those who do KCBS and aren't familiar with the onsite aspect of MIM, here are some shots of our tent during judging day:

Our setup for the judge to sample our product:
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/226798_2034154416918_1335913389_32382874_7449926_n .jpg

The judging running down the team line high fiving everyone as he enters our tent
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/226673_2034155336941_1335913389_32382877_3124918_n .jpg

Checking out our presentation pit (we cook on our tucker) and discussing our rubs/sauces, etc.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/229420_2034155816953_1335913389_32382879_8049304_n .jpg

While the judge is in the tent everyone leaves and waits outside to give the pitmaster/judge privacy
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/227522_2034156096960_1335913389_32382880_1515792_n .jpg

Judge at the table sampling our ribs:
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/230809_2034156376967_1335913389_32382881_3324976_n .jpg

After you've been judged 3 times you fill out comment cards on your judges. We had one guy who ended up sobbing about how his wife died two years ago and how he missed last year but that Jesus brought him back this year. He was a rude prick and kept interrupting our Pitmaster and talking about himself. We took him to task on our comment cards. That crap is unacceptable.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/225037_2034159377042_1335913389_32382892_3011670_n .jpg

Team shot on our 2nd level:

A lot of teams take the party to the judging stage with them. We loaded up a full mobile bar to take down there:

Lots of photos of MIM on our Facebook Page. Too many to post here. It was a great party! The Margaretta Machine flowed the kegs drained quickly. The food was great. Oh and we had a Barbeque competition as well. We came in 33 out of 113 teams. The Stumps worked great and put out perfect ribs. The Brethern signs were up to envite all our friends from the site.
Thanks
