Howdy all,

This is Mike from New Braunfels, TX. "Matchlight & no match" is painfully close to the truth. :) I've got a Weber kettle & a gasser, but no smoker. (yet!)

Also looking for ideas for preparing some of the feral hogs we've got around here.

Welcome aboard Mike!

Have only smoked a couple of wild pigs but usually brine for a day or two (draining water until it's clear) with a cup of salt & brown sugar per gallon of water (in an ice & water bath). Then slow smoke with hickory wood. Both pigs were in the 60-75 lb range.

Thanks, everyone. I figure the hogs will be a learning experience, but then again, I don't need to worry about running out of 'em. :)
