Hello group.
I found this site after I read about UDS's. Now I have found a barrell and am burning it out as I type this. Can't wait to begin building it as well as using it.
I have been loving bbqing for a while now. My first was a charcoal water smoker. From there I bought a Brinkman gas smoker. I went back to wood but was disappointed in the work involved. A couple of years ago I bought a Maserbuilt electric smoker and I love the set-it-and-forget-it ease of electric but I miss the fire.
Just this past week during Thanksgiving I had trouble with it and decided it was time for something new. Scanning the internet I found someone talking about UDS's. This had my curiosity. Now I'm hooked and I won't be satisfied until I have completed my new baby.
My experiece is purely novice. I only cook for myself and family.
One thing that is a must during travel anywhere is to find some BBQ joint and taste the local Cue.
As far as current equipment I have a Brinkman charcoal water smoker. Still have the old gas smoker. The Masterbuilt Electric smoker and a Weber gas grill.
I look forward to learning from you all and hopefully adding a little myself.
I'm sure the group could use another Bubba right?

Thanks to all for welcoming me here. Update on UDS. I have a barrel with lid and have burned it out. I bought SS bolts for the grill and bought the 22.5 Weber grill. I'm going to drill the inlet holes today and build my charcoal rack as well. Hopefully I'll be able to be doing some smokin later today.
I'll try to remember to take photos for those who may be interested
