Hi Brethren!

My name is Jim (or Jimmy, or James, just don't call me late for dinner) and I live in the SouthWestern Chicago suburbs, close to Aurora, IL, with my lovely wife and our daughter (my step-daughter), who has high functioning autism. One of her favorite things to eat is beef, and that's where the barbecue really gets it's work out. Being Polish, I have pork running through my veins, so throw a couple of chickens in there for good measure and we make our way through the food chain.

I'm originally from New Jersey, close to Philly, and since my Dad was a butcher, I grew up around meat, and lots of it, even those so-called "specialty" meats that use as much of the animal as possible.

I'm glad to be here on this forum. I'm not a professional Q'er but love to try new things and experiment with flavors outside of salt and pepper. Cooking is my pressure valve after a long day of working on Mainframe computers in a Corporate (notice the capital C) office. :-D

Welcome to the asylum, Jim (or Jimmy, or James) :-D

I'm not too far from you in Batavia and I'm also of Polish descent (50% on my father's side).

Welcome aboard! I have a child with autism as well who always parks himself in the kitchen when I pull any meat off the smoker or grill.
