Same here. I just finished a deer and a brisket on the smoker. I may skip thanksgiving weekend, but I'm sure the following weekend I'll be rolling smoke! It may be cold outside, but it is always warm by the smoker!!

I'm sure enjoying it down here this winter. Everybody should be able to move south for 5 months and then go back to a place like West Michigan. Of course if we all did that then the housing prices would be thru the roof and there'd be no room.

No stopping for us for a bit -- a contest in two weeks, then a double over New Year's. Half of me is quavering, "But we didn't cook this week!" and the other half is going "Make it stoooooppppp....!"

Um.
No. :heh:

When does fire care about cold? You live about 5 miles from me. We got the same weather, and it NEVER stopped the cooking. Look close at the BYC, u can see the fire is going in the Firebox. :becky:

As long there is flesh in the fridge... BBQ is alive year-round.

The snow is there to keep the beer cold.

I used to say that there were only two seasons: BBQ & deer.

Now that I've given up hunting my BBQ season lasts from January 1st through December 31st.

This is from a comp practice last January when we had the worst Winter in 30+ years.

The Turkey is in brine on the back porch..36* here...

I cook (smoke and grill) about 300 days of the year outdoors... The "Twins" Fatboys love the cold!!!

Bring on the snow!!! I do my best cooking in the winter!!!

Butts just came off the smoker and have thrown together some Brunswick Stew (thanks
for great recipe Saiko) that'll get some fresh pork shortly and made Bob Marley Soup
(command performance by the kids). Wife has turkeys coming off the smaller smoker
about noon. A/C is actually running in the house....

I did have to take a few leaves off of the smoker(s) though.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Ok, no more excuses to not pull pork, off to burning
my fingers.

Is this thread about BBQ Competetions or just BBQ cooking??

We are blessed with a year round season for either, if you don't mind freezing winter temps or blistering hot and humid summers.

But...we cook right on through all of that :-D

Well, competition "season" is kinda over (there are still some in the warmer climes, but not many) but I'll keep on cookin' for friends and family through the snow and the cold -- not a whole lot of that here in NC. Good stuff seems to come out of the smoker regardless of the weather around it :-D
