Morning! Wanted to introduce myself. I am Chris...and have become obcessed with BBQ since buying a Traeger 075 pellet smoker. I am enjoying some mighty fine BBQ right at home now and am hoping to keep learning. I have an old big-box store offset as well (Brinkman, maybe?) which I am just learning how to use. Not a high quality pit, but it's getting me started. It has nice, thick steel and I've added firebrick in the bottom, so it actually works pretty well so far. If I get good enough at the stick-burner, I may look to upgrade it. We'll see. I don't envision doing comps, so the cheap-o may be just fine for the backyard. Same with the Traeger. I have learned alot on pelletheads.com and would probably have gone with another brand with what I know now, but again it does well for the backyard so It's probably a keeper. May depend on how well it performs in cold weather this winter. Anyway I'm rambling...

BTW....I hate Matchlight. Smells like oil and gasoline. I use natural lump....
