I am not associated with this contest but was thinking about cooking it and told the organizer I'd pass along whatever info she wanted known on some forums so here is her response:

Ice Available
Water on Site
Showers Available at select times
Grand Champion will receive free entry into the 2011 event
Camper parking available in parking lot adjacent to the event site
Fishing available on site (about 50 feet behind sites)
Canoes & Kayaks available free of charge
All sites are on grass
Event giveaways
Free wi-fi available
Pets Allowed
Saturday morning Breakfast Coupon

There will also be entertainment, childrens activities and a canned food
drive to benefit a local charity.

The event site is LITERALLY ON the banks of Crooked Creek and there is
playground area, walking path, and nature trail. It is a perfect location
for this type of an event.

Attached is the entry form, rules, and a flyer.

We have partenered with some motels and they are giving some great rates to teams and judges coming to this event:
1929 Hotel Seville - 25 % off
Quality Inn - $69
Holiday Inn Express - $79
Hampton Inn - $89

Thanks for all your help in promoting this event!

We were going to go, but we have an annual BBQ/party (Ham-Off) that will be 50 miles from there. Please post or PM me on here if you, that means any of you farkers, will be at Harrison. I would make that short trip to meet some brethren.

BTW it is a dry county so I'll remember to bring a frosty one in case you forget.

Caveman Cuisine will be there.
If you decide to go they told us there is a bridge that you must pass under to get to the event and it's 10'3" tall.

My folks are buried there
Sure would be neat to go
Fall colors or will it be too late?

A little too late for the main array. If I lie and say yes will you come?

So is there an alternative route? I am thinking about this one but probably a long shot...

I don't think so. We measured our trailer and we will clear. Does you trailer set up higher than ours?

Is there a chance that me and one of my teammates can try some of you guys' que and/or get some pointers. The only comp q we have tried was ours and I know we need some help.

We would help load you out, run boxes, wash dishes ........... pay ........... name it.

Thanks,

Fred

I'm thinking about coming- have a buddy coming in town from USAFA that weekend, but if he's up for it, I think we might (esp. if I can get someone to fill in for me on Sunday)
