Is there a listing of contests for sauce and rub makers?

? no, there are no sanctioning bodies or listing for sauce or rubs. the contests that
I know of that have sauce or rub categories (I dont recall ever seeing a rub category)
are in anscillary to the main BBQ contest and most (even on most non-sanctioned
backyard contests) dont even count towards a GC.

Well, speaking as the Sauce King of Illinois... :becky: They are only in side categories or go to the American Royal or NBBQN at their yearly convention.

There are the scovie awards that do a number of categories including sauce and rubs.

I think there is also a fiery food challenge and a zestfest that has similar categories.

as others have mentioned..the National BBQ association has a sauce contest as well as the Royal.
Royal is over with but the NBBQA is having their convention next March with entries due a little before that so you still have time for that one. If you go to the website (www.nbbqa.org) you can get the number and give them a call for more details.
Also the Scovie Awards as Chris mentioned..dont remember when those are..
expect to send in an entry fee along with your sample..
