Greetings All...thanks for the forum.
As a neophyte here, it all looks interesting but I must say, I'm most impressed by what's behind it. A congregation of bbq'ers seemingly imbued with and tied by an ethic. Refreshing to find.
Well, introduce yourself, eh...
Native Washingtonian, USAF Retiree where I developed the taste for competitive cooking, in Europe and stateside. So, now, I enjoy CASI chili comps and I just wrapped up my first season competing with the PNWBA. A nicer assembly of folks, you'll just not find. Week in and week out they produce some delectible Q that's not easy to compete with... not at all! And they can be an absolute joy to be around.
I'm an addicted drummer, fly fisherman, married to a sweetheart and being a REALTOR pays the bills...well, in this economy, I'm not so sure but that's my story and I'm stickin to it!
I started the competition year with an indirect "Brink-pit" augmenting a Model 75 extended Traeger. The Brink is now for sale and the Traeger is back on the deck where it belongs and we use it constantly. It wasn't made for the road.
I'm competing with three WSM 18.5's and life gets better with every event.
It's October. So, I guess we head into the "practice round" for a few months, up here in the wet (but gorgeous) Northwest. And I suppose it's about time. Hell, the other day I went to roll on deoderant and I swear it smelled like Hickory smoke!
And that's about it. Nothing more to see here. Mhttp://cid-5215efccb0189033.photos.live.com/self.aspx/PNWBA%20Chehalis%202010/Chehalis%20%5E5181%5E6.JPGove along, move along...
