We are in the process of designing our own smoker and should have CAD drawings middle of next week or so on the new "Extreme Smoker". Rough dimensions will be 24wx30dx52+/- with legs/tires. 5 shelves standard with the capability to add 5 more, 2" insulation and with our intake/exhaust (guru/stoker friendly) design it's all self contained with welded seams. No leaking here! Also comes with permanent stainless steel water pan.

I hoping the first one will be complete and tested by end of Oct. I will post more info as far as pricing and additional options later this month. Once that info is posted we will start taking pre-orders. Please contact me directly for more information.

Cool...sounds like a good sized smoker. Any chance of a sneak peak at the Jack? Perhaps a day trip out to Cordova? I'm in the market for a capacity pit this off season...

I hoped to have it ready for the Jack, but not sure it will happen in time. As soon as we get closer I'll be posting photos of it.

Permanent water pan? Not removeable for cleaning? Will it be gravity feed or offset? What about insullation...double wall? I know...be patient. Looking forward to seeing what you have come up with.

Permanent water pan, not a big fan of pans full/half full of renderings and water after a cook to have to deal with getting out without a big mess. There will be a valve for draining and looking at an optional valve to fill as needed. Unit is completely surrounded (tops, sides & bottom) with 2" high temp insulation and is a vertical style. I can't give away much more:tape: but I think I did:redface:

Can't really say yes or no at this point. We'll have to wait until our first few trial runs.

Will the price be comparable to a Spice/Backwoods as well? You have piqued my curiosity. I have been looking for such a smoker for about a year now.

I've got two prototype sketches that will give you an idea. I'm taking two styles of smokers and bringing them together as one.

Trying to stay in the 300-375 range. I know...that's a big gap, but I'll have an exact weight in a few weeks.

As far as orders JD, give me a call. I can process it through the office. Still ironing out a safe/secure form for ordering.

I can attest to that! I was fortunate enough (and trusted enough...thanks James) to get a sneak peak at the build so far...all I can say is this smoker is gonna be top notch and versatile as hell! :thumb: I can't wait to add one or two to my arsenal...:becky:

Thanks JD, We are coming right along with the build. Throughout the process we made a few minor changes so the final "Specs" will be announced once the build is complete and the test runs are done.

As far as changes we've added a few things that will be very helpful in the overall functionality of our smoker. I can tell you this, this smoker is rock solid and I've got a good feeling folks will be able to sleep at night:wink:

Just ordered a Stoker unit so that I can provide detailed data of the smoker runs. I will proceed as planned Monday without it. Once I do the testing with the Stoker I'll provide a video if possible and the graph on my website. Here are some progress pics.

Bottom line is that the fab shop I was going to have do the builds for me well....just doesn't quite do a very good job. So for now it's on hold until I can find another shop that actually takes pride in their work.

We are back on track, some changes have been made and just in the short time I was thinking about doing a continuous feed I've noticed several popping up on the internet from all over.

So, I've decided against it and will be doing a standard vertical smoker with some outrageous features. This will be a one of kind smoker, solid and have a good size capacity. I'm especially excited about this build because we have been asked and it's a great honor to build a smoker for the "BUSHMASTERS" BRAVO COMPANY 1-16TH INFANTRY from Fort Riley, KS. This company was deployed over a week ago to Afghanistan for 12 months and we plan on presenting them with their very own custom smoker when they return.

I'll post updates as often as possible. Thank you all who have shown interest in our new product. I appreciate it very much.

James

Hey QBones, still in the works, just ironing a few details out. Been doing some test runs and have been able to maintain 325-350 degrees on about 8#'s of charcoal for several hours. I've actually shut the smoker down at 8PM gone out the next morning at 6AM and still be sitting at 150*
