Still taking stock of the awesome time I had this weekend hosting this first year contest! Definitely bit off more than I could chew getting in to it and at times I wondered why I was doing it, but now I am already looking forward to next year! The only disappointment I had was that not everyone got a call!

Huge congrats to "Tippy WHO?" BBQ Crew on the GC, and Boondoggle for first place ribs. Also congrats to all brethren who heard their name!

Congrats to everyone on calls. Tippy four calls and GC, MV's consistency earned them the RGC and Woodfellas big brisket helped them to 3rd overall.

Our spot was right across from the team check in and I got to see first hand the work organizers put in while on site at an event. Ryan was on the go go go from the time I got there Friday morning til the time teams left Saturday evening. He was there taking care of most all of the team needs - although he did forgot to come over and cook our chicken.

Good job Ryan, Sonya and Travis. I know you had some other volunteers as well, but the three of you really stepped up and did a great job.

I'll also add a congrats to Don on the 1st in ribs. He cooked a few extra racks as he had a catering event on Monday. We could have turned in nearly any of the racks as they were all excellent. As I was testing them for taste and tenderness, I couldn't distinguish a different in at least 5 of the racks to turn in - we were able to simply use the best looking ones. (Now lets do that again at the Royal and Jack!)

Thanks Pat. It felt great to get that first call in ribs! I was still thinking about it at work today. :-D Thanks to all that gave me a high-fives and and great comments. Now I just got to figure out chicken and brisket. :-D
