Turds

I want to make some turds for a party this weekend, but have one question...

How do you put them in the cooker? Looking at pics, it looks like phil had some sort of special rack. I don't have one. Can you lay them right on the grill?

Can they be made in advance? Should they be reheated before serving or is room temp OK?

I took a piece of expanded metal cut 12X12, used bolts, nuts and washer made legs. I simply stand the peppers in the rack.
I try to serve them hot of the grill but they could be warmed in the cooker or a microwave.

You can also use steel or bamboo skewers -- that's what we usually do at Bashes. Just put 6 to a skewer - this makes them easy to turn or move around the smoker/grill/whatever.
