I thought this would be a great new thread to start as a place to do all of our bragging. If you have competed in a competition and placed anywhere from 10th to 1st plus GC or RGC, this is where you can showcase your accomplishments.

Since this is my thread, I will start. Here is the format to follow:

Competition Name: Battle of the BBQ Brethren 2010
Competition Date: August 7 & 8, 2010
Rank & Category: 4th Place Pork

4th place pork may not be something to brag about, but it was my first competition ever, plus, when you beat Smoke In Da Eye in any category, it is reason to brag.

Or we could continue with a practice that has served this forum well for quite a while.

Congrats on your Pork call.

I thought it would be cool if there was a place that a new user could look and see all of the accomplishments of the veterans on here.
Take IQUE for example, unless I go to their website, I don't know what they have won. If there was a thread on here where the teams could announce their winnings, users wouldn't have to go to individual websites to find out. Sure, we could check the KCBS website, but that shows you the winners by event, not the team.

I think over time, you will come to understand that most of the consistent winners are pretty humble. Just an observation.

Ok, so maybe a thread to brag about accomplishments isn't such a great idea.
So, what about an additional tab in the users profile titled accomplishments that members can add their awards if they wanted to?

If it's so important to let the world know, how about just putting it in your signature line...

Oh and I got a 4th Place Walk in Pork in the ONE AND ONLY COMP I've ever done too! Woot Woot...

Check out the Pickled Pig web site, I believe it will do what you are looking for.

If you have to brag about yourself. It usually because no one else will. I also think that at any KCBS event they should call top 13 places.
