Hold on here, something just ain't right. I see 16 mouthwatering "bones" and one *eggplant* -- obviously there is a computer glitch or someone didn't realize that one of those entries was not, in fact, as mouthwatering as it appears to be -- I demand a recount!

Outstanding entries!

I'll be brutally honest here... (surprise surprise),
Anyone who can present lamb that beautifully Frenched and Q'd the first time they've ever done it, and present it as a feature on a dish with perfectly complimentary ingredients (after I had an initial concern)... get my vote...

Take this my friend!

As awarded in the entry thread.. just that once an entry goes to a vote.. we don't often look at the prior thread. Sorry for repeating, but... congrats High Q!

Dang you Bill. I had it narrowed down to 3 or 4 entries until I saw your thread on that lamb. I think, to me, it is important to see the process a participant went through to make the end result and what looks good enough to eat right NOW. I want to eat them all!

Hmmmmm...surgical removal of the face cats is a procedure generally not recommended for greater vote count, however...

I have to agree with Bill. Much as it pains me to not vote for his fair dinkum looking lamb chops, that frenched double lamb rib looked primo.

The good news is Bill is having an influence in here...best two entries were lamb...

I decided to finally go for it and enter a Throwdown! The trees in my yard are bursting with ripe kumquats and oranges and my thyme is going crazy so I pondered for a while and decided that pork chops would be perfect to complement these fresh ingredients.

I started by making Candied Kumquats with Thyme, Orange Confit (hot olive oil bath), and Red Onions pickled in Wine and Grenadine the night before:
http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff206/posersurfer/Pork%20Chop%20with%20Orange%20Confit%20bretheren%2 0throwdown/CandiedKumquat.jpg

http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff206/posersurfer/Pork%20Chop%20with%20Orange%20Confit%20bretheren%2 0throwdown/GrenadineOnions-1.jpg

Layering Orange Confit, Salt, Thyme, Brown Sugar, and Olive Oil on Porkchops (guess which one is for my wife):
http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff206/posersurfer/Pork%20Chop%20with%20Orange%20Confit%20bretheren%2 0throwdown/OrangeConfitOnChop.jpg

Brussel Sprouts on the Grill:
http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff206/posersurfer/Pork%20Chop%20with%20Orange%20Confit%20bretheren%2 0throwdown/BrusselSproutson.jpg

After Searing Porkchop for 2 minutes on a grill top cast iron pan to caramelize the top, it was put directly onto the grill for 10 minutes to finish.
http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff206/posersurfer/Pork%20Chop%20with%20Orange%20Confit%20bretheren%2 0throwdown/Porkchopon.jpg

Everything plated and ready to eat. The final menu included the Grilled Brussel Sprouts and Grilled New Potatoes to accompany the Chop along with the Fruit and Root Preserves.
