I was watch Paula's show on the Food Network last night because it said she would be BBQ'ing. Now all she did was grill some bland looking chicken but she made a dessert that was so sinful that I just had to share it with the brethren.

Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding

2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2 (4.5-ounce) cans fruit cocktail (undrained)
2 eggs, beaten
1 (9-ounce) box raisins
1 pinch salt
1 or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Butter Rum Sauce, recipe follows

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cube donuts into a large bowl. Pour other ingredients on top of donuts and let soak for a few minutes. Mix all ingredients together until donuts have soaked up the liquid as much as possible.

Bake for about 1 hour until center has jelled. Top with Butter Rum Sauce.

Butter Rum Sauce:
1 stick butter
1 pound box confectioners' sugar
Rum, to taste
Melt butter and slowly stir in confectioners' sugar. Add rum and heat until bubbly. Pour over each serving of Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding.

If anybody makes this before I get around to it, let me know how it comes out. Also, let me know how long you are in a sugar coma!

Yeah I saw that a week or two ago. Looks real good! Don't you love her version of BBQ? If it has BBQ sauce on it she calls it authentic BBQ! I could **** authentic BBQ three times a day if thats the case!

Sorry... It is just that I have seen to many of her shows. And when my mother-in-law and wife both yell at me when I am in the garage "Paula is going to BBQ something, come watch with us" and I do, it is very dissapointing when she sticks the farking meat in the OVEN!

And I know that the meat turned out awsome, but that's NOT BBQ in my opinion.

Never tried her sauce?

Did you see the episode where she tries a bite of her food when it was done and she said "mmm, that is sooo good for my pie hole"? Farking hilarious!

Paula is hilarious even if I don't agree with her about BBQ. Have you noticed that every recipe starts with "a stick of butter"? That's why she is on her second husband. She gave the first one a coronary.

But her stuff does look good. I've tried some of her recipes with some really good results. I just might try the bread pudding this weekend if I have the energy left.

Just funning with you John...I don't like her or Martha Stewart.
I guess it's the back yard kind of guy I am. It's sad but these
types seem to cater to the rich and lazy. Good Q takes some
time and some work..but to me that is what makes it what it
is.

Yeah thats very true! It seems like there always tring to make the whole process faster and faster.

For me I love the fact that it can take up to 30 minutes for my coals to be ready to grill. Thats more time for me to relax and enjoy life... with a beer in hand of coarse!

Hijack what? this thread is about Paula Dean.

She just seems kind of the back country type with some of her comments on her show. But I personaly think that it is a little scripted (hollywood) but it does provide some good entertainment value here and there.

Having been to River St. in Savannah on St. Patrick's Day she could never chage my opinion of either Savannah or Georgia :D
