Well got my first comp under our belt this weekend!! It was a great time met a lot of great people and made some new friends. Can't say enough about the guys at Mann's Orchard very accommodating to say the least at the cooks meeting they announced that there kitchen will be open and free for us to use 24hrs and if we needed anything cutting boards, knifes, ect to help ourselves, not to mention they were giving free samples of things through the night Coffee Chello shots and who can resist Hot Apple Crisp brought right to you at 12:30 am they even had coffee on and hot for everyone at 3:30 n the morning. Man I think I got spoiled this time!! I feel I did pretty well 8th over all chicken was a problem dang roaster thighs!!! Placed 8th in chicken. 5th in Ribs though those were DAL!!!! Had a flare up taking out the butts and scorch the bottom off all but one rack the smallest one I think the biggest rib was the size of my thumb!! 6th in pork didn't sauce the pulled that I put in the box don't know why cause I dunked everything else must have been a brain fart I guess. and 5th in brisket me and that thing had a show down it stalled for about 4hrs at 157my sleep shift was over at 3:30 and that temp didn't change till 730 ground my teeth almost to the nerves it finally got done at 12.30 for a turn in at 2pm. someone slap me if I ever buy an 18lbs briscket again!!! All in all learned a lot and had a blast!!!!

Great set up. I like the double barrel smokers. Congratulations on your 1st comp. I hope to get my feet wet this year also.

mmm, mmm, yeah man, the coffeecello was killer. warm apple crisp too, those guys should get sanctioned next year and make it a real hoot.
but, on the other hand i did like the local, personal, home town feel. we weren't just a number. any way srry to hear you had trouble with a pit, but happy to share 1st comp together.
lets see how we do at 1st KCBS comp...can't wait!

thanks every one! We call the Uds's The Twins we named them that cause when you open lids and look at them from the back one exhuaste vent is a higher then the other just like the real thing . And the best part is we can play with these twins any time we want cause there always in the mood!! and never say no!!lol
