This is my unashamed plea for votes. It has come to my attention that you all think that I am a professional Chef.:laugh:

No way, I am self taught and have never cooked in a restaurant or anything like that.

As my sig. states, "I'm not a Chef, but I play one on the internet!":clap2:
Now, I have decided to let my two service dogs, Penny & Bingo, make the case for me.

So without further delay, here they are!!

Well, as much as I have some favourite people entered in this throwdown... and as much as I really want to win myself... as I know how good my wings were... I have to concede to my Arch Rival, Gore's Master... Again, he has greated a fusion food that only a completely mad nutcase in a Laboratory can produce. And when I look at "what do I want to EAt Now.... It's the battered ribs.... Congratulations Gore's Master, Gore, Smokey Al Gold, and Ninja Squirrel... A Masterful effort!

Cheers!

Ok, I was at work when I voted so didn't really have time to post a comment but had to go with Big T BBQ 'cause that chicken fried steak and gravy over buscuits...and fried on the grill is something I would love to sink my teeth into! It took me a bit to decide I must say though because Gore's battered, deep fried ribs were very original (had he used a more KFC-like batter, he would have gotten my vote) and Chef Jim, I thought yours was great too, who'd you get to eat it since you don't even like pineapple? I would have woofed it down! Just wanted to let ya'll know - great entries! :thumb:

Actually, we both had a very bad week at work last week (we both work for the State of TN - that's how we met - he'd worked there for almost 20 years then I got hired almost 7 years ago and bam!) He was very disappointed about how it...uh...looked (I was still asleep...gotta have ur Saturday), but I begged him to come into the kitchen and watch me at least try to do what I was gonna do...he did and we had fun - that's what it's all about after all - oh and not to mention the fact that we got to eat it too. BTW, his "mess" was really yummy, just didn't qualify for eye candy!

Sorry Big T, normally I give points for local. But, it was biscuits and gravy ball deep fried in bacon fat. I offer no reasonable excuse for wanting to eat one of those.

edit: lemme just say, if there was a place I could get a plate like that Big T in the bay area, I would find my way there as often as my doctor doesn't notice.

I am stunned that Southern Smoker is at 0... one of the finest plates of food ever! I was just saying the other day how I have learned to appreciate a seared steak, but still mostly grill them except in the heart of winter. And Garyclaw made that burger about as good as can be done by frying, but the photo does not do it justice and this IS a beauty contest.

In the end, when it comes to FRIED, nothing says comfort food like fried country steak. I might have to make a run to Crackel Barrel soon... I guess it must have been almost 20 years since I had that friend country steak platter.

Scrog was thinking if he showed up in a new chef's hat, it ought to be worth a couple votes. I'm not so sure -- it's really hard to find one to fit properly. He was very concerned that some of the sous chef's in this thread aren't wearing proper headwear. :tsk:

Well, I'm not going to win. At least I don't think I will. Although there are a ton of brethren out there that never vote. If I could just figure out a way...

Yeah right Jim!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

So I voted for Gore. Chicken fried steak looked good but I could go to Denny's and find that. Granted, no where near as good, but never the less I could get it.

Now battered and deep fried ribs, don't know any where to go for that except to Gore's house.

Please send the address as a road trip is in order.:thumb::thumb::thumb:

I think I am going to vote for deguerre.

[EDIT] I was going to vote for deguerre to rob him of a well deserved zero then after some thinking I decided that I'm probably the only one that would think that was funny. So I went through the entries very carefully (excluding my own) and I'm voting for Gore. Good job to all, that was a fun category. :becky:

Actually I thought of voting for Guerry myself -- I actually thought that looked good (but I'm not a fan of fried food and his looked, well, really tasty). I didn't want him to take it the wrong way, that I was robbing him of his zero. And it wasn't like he was going to catch Redhot.

One rule of thumb I go by.. .just because it CAN be fried doesn't mean it should be fried. :)

Man, you said it there! I am completely disgusted that this sacrilege has been posted on these hallowed pages. Someone should get a rope, or I guess a stake and dry wood are more fitting.
