If you were going to use the Bandera as a template what changes would you make? Would you use 1/8 inch or 1/4 inch steel? Anything else you can think of?

Ask Mary. He's got a Bandera on steroids down at Klose's place according to what I've read.

Definitely 1/4 material, go 20" deep min., angled smoke box bottom with drain mod (full drip bucket instead of grease fires on big butt cooks). Go as wide as budget will allow, do split upper and lower doors (when cooking in small batches if you use the lower area, and don't open the upper area, a pocket of warm air will be preserved in the top, which I believe will enhance recovery times.
Having same built in fall, been thinking about it a while.
