Who's doing 'em?
What other types of fatties have you tried besides breakfast sausage?
I tried a burger fatty, it came out pretty dry, but tasty. Best use was crumbled up in a pan with some taters, fried up in bacon grease, and so flav.
Anyone ever have polenta? I was eyeballing a fatty of corn meal mush the other day and wondered what that would be like on the smoker. Probably not very good.

Nothing like a Jimmy Dean right out of the smoker.

I love them.
Ate the last of a Zesty Spicy one last night.
Wife and I agreed it would be awesome on a Mexican Pizza

How about smoked Angel Food cake?
That $hit would take on a pretty good smoke ring.

Maybe if you crumbled in some JD out of the smoker, mixed it in with the polenta, baked in little patties, and fried it up in bacon grease....?

Come on Bill, this thread is about fattys, not widdies. :) You know why there is a hole in the middle of them don't you?

At least one every smoke. Want to try homemade someday and chorizo on the next cook. Have considered mixing the chorizo into one of the blander varieties or hamburger.
Let us know about the chorizo. Sounds good.

Just throw the johnsonvilles as they are into the coolest spot. No need to piss around.
mini-fatties, or pinners

Does the smoke still get int there good?
I tried it once in the ECB, no thermometers, and I had jerky. Never bothered again. I was probably running a little hot though.

I tried a JD Hot fatty last Sunday, ate 1/2 while cooking, ate the rest, with DreamLand yesterday. It was good but, not as good as the fresh "Bolder Hot Italian" link sausage I get at Wal-Mart and grill while smoking, will try it in the smoke above the heat shield next time. It is the same price as JD for a package of six and to me, it is bettter eating.
I tried smoking them below the heat shield once and they were tooooo dry and tough  , great grilled though. :D

That's right Al, you need to cook your fatty in the cool spot, or it may be too dry. I cook mine at the top of the beast and let the juices baste the items below. Above the heat shield would be a good place too. I always load up my beast to the max. so I have yet to use a shield.

The fatty was above the shield last Sunday.
The first time I did the links, they were below the heat shield, not good. Grilled, they were excellent.
