I know a lot of guys here have a WSM. I prsonally have never even laid eyes on one in person so perhaps someone can enlighten me.
Just how different is it from my ECB? From pictures, it looks the same just six times the price.

Rick, from what I can tell - here's some diffo's.

1) construction. WSM is a quality constructed machine. No so for ECB
2) the bottom of the WSM is enclosed with fire control dampers. Not so for ECB.
3) competition smokers utilitize WSM's for some of their entries. Not so for ECB.

I'm sure there are other inputs from the actual WSM owners ( I'm a WSM luster....)

Bottom kettle makes for very controlled burn temps and rock steady temps over long periods.

About 2-4" bigger around as well.

Great for non farkable food, not so great for **** you wanna keep spraying and such

Gotta go. 1.5 hours till Margaritaville

got one.
Had an ecb.
ya hear the old proverbial night and day difference?
THIS IS IT. I can set up with the minion method and once the temp stabilizes I go out and can stay gone literally for 4-5 hours and that temp
doesnt move!
I really wanted a bandera or offset vut my main reason for a new one was to mess with it as little as possible. I made babybacks sunday and had to take the kids to b day parties and pick them up. It DID NOT move from 228 the whole time. AND once i had one bite of those beautiful pink colored ribs I knew for the first time i made the right choice.
I can get such a bad case of buyers remorse.
