Exterior Dimensions (as viewed from fb door) 16 1/4w x 12h x 20 1/2d
FB door opg: 16 1/4 x 9 1/2
FB floor to bottom of plenum opg: 7 1/2"
FB Lid opg: 14 1/4w X 17 3/4d (this is the opening that the FB cooking grate covers)

Al if you (or anyone else) need other dimensions just let me know and I'll take a measurement and get it posted. Hang in there mook, we'll get you fixed up.

KC,

Thanks for posting the dimensions.

Al or any others, if you need pictures, I can stop by my local Lowes and snap some, they have one out of the box and assembled, although poorly assembled.

KC,

Thanks for posting the dimensions.

Mook, no problem.

Re: you other question in cc about other observations the only differences I can figure out are:
No hanging tabs in b'mann firebox
Different system for water pan suppt. NB/CB uses hangers, B'mann sliding shelf
Different rib rack in b'mann (a bit more useable, maybe)
More hanging rods and hooks and stuff included with b'mann
Cover not included with b'mann (most 'dera ads I've seen say cover included) but the factory cover isn't worth much and not worth the $50 CB wants for it. I use wal-marts "best grill cover" $25 very heavy canvas type material.

No cover came with mine.

And I have found the same, large gas grill covers fit nicely. $15 at Menards. Same material as the air conditioner covers (don't image they sell those in CA, at least not South. But we cover the ditioners for 5 months to keep the snow and critters out.

The vinyl-ish crap cracks in the cold (maybe not a problem for you either.)

Thanks, guys

I'll be in town this week, I want to "see" one to get the "basket legs" to be right the first time and to figure out what they will cost. Basket needs to be high enough to get enough ash room for long unattended burns and low enough to allow the lid to close with the top grill in place(with or without fire bricks).

From the measurements given, looks like without the basket shelf tabs welded on, the Basket (14 inches wide, 16.5 inches) will fit down through the fire fox top opening.

Al, I won't build anything until I see where it goes no matter what either, but here's a picture of what you'll see. Nothing in there except hardware. 2 stand bolt heads, 4 sm shelf bolt ends and nuts, 6 plenum bolt ends and nuts, and the stationary latch hook.

Found an assembled Brinkman at Lowes this weekend $249.00. My basket will fit, but needs to have leg MOD added. This will be user installed, some assembly required, batteries not included.

Brinkman Basket design adjustable height Leg MOD is done, now I just need a reason to buy the leg parts (estimated to add $10 to basket cost). So I will complete one for $95 if any one wants to order for your Brinkman.

Had a chance to look over a NB Bandera today at Home Depot. Can't say if its foreign or domestic but no question it had been around quite a while. Door Latches on NB much better than B'mann. Other than that I like the queer better.

What I noted of interest was in this model the adjustable grate tabs in the fire box were bolted in (well more like sm machine screws). Anybody think it would be possible to get these hanger tabs from NB/CB and install them in a queer? Would sure be nice to have one of Al's baskets and be able to use it as intended. Are the current models bolted/screwed in or welded?

I am not sure I understand the problem, but let me try this:
The current CharBroil Item # 25601012 (Quantity 4) is in the instructions as "Adjustable Shelf". WRONG. In reality, these are a set of 4 shelf brackets for the Bandera FireBox. They bolt in place!
How do I know this? Long story about phone calls to CharBroil to resolve my origonal problems with the smoke box. They sent me 4 of these brackets by mistake. My handwritten notes in the instruction manual say $1.77 (probably each).
Anyway, I may have helped (or confused the situation--not sure.
If I am off base--Sorry. Just trying!

My basket drops in through the top opening on the Bandera. Since the Brinkman top opening is 14.25" wide and my Bandera basket is 15" wide with the shelf tabs welded on, not sure it would be insertable due to the design differenced between the two units, plus I would have to design a different jig to accomidate the fact that the door latch is on the left, just wouldn't be worth your and my hassel. I have a no hassel user adjustable height leg kit that will work in the Queer, for $10 bucks extra.

Tim, you were right on the money, I was the one barking up the wrong tree.
However, those brackets, at that price, would make a nice addition to the Brinkmann fire box for those that wanted an easy improvement over the OEM setup for less cabbage than Al's basket.
