12:21 AM I was farking sleeping. Get up at 4:45 am every work day and have to have at least seven hours to be worth a $hit the next day. Have to admit though that the night I flew back from B2 I managed to get by with four. Adrenalin was pumping

Nope we've already spent ours! I was a good little peon and filed early this year.

I did the "go to the dentist and let him prep a molar for a crown-mod" today. Whole face was numb (not the brain, this time :D)

Get to go back in two weeks and get the "real" crown installed.

Thanks you all for all the tips on pork butts. Smoked one to raves from friends and family using your tips.

KC, didn't you do a chuck roast in the bandera? Anything different on that from a brisket?

Not a bit different jt, in fact it was a farm raised older animal, they tend to be gamey, so I did the tk marinade and the whole bit. Didn't take very long to cook, compared to a brisket, sorry I don't remember how long 5 or 6 hrs for a 3.5# flat shaped roast. Real tasty, especially for what I started with. Both times I've used tk's marinade I've used wild cherry pepsi, nice, very nice.Next time I've got to remember the "don't boil out the marinade" thing from that newsletter Bro. kick sent around. Serious LOW and slow mod for brisket.

I thought I'd just use my normal brisket rub and then put a sausage log over it for the first couple hours (gotta try that!). Never tried TK's marinade - have to go look that up. What newsletter did Kick send around?

TK's version: Dr. Pepper, Buillon (beef dissolved in water), chopped onion, bottled bbq sauce.
My mom's old version: Cola, hunts or heinze chili sauce, lipton onion soup. Marinate overnight to 24 hrs. Last time crappy sat weather had mine in marinade for 36 hrs. If I had not farked up temp control, would have been awesome, was just dam good.

I'll see if I can find that newsletter and fwd to you. Excellent brisket primer. Didn't read much else of it.

Check the recipe section. There's quite a bit more to it.
