An internal review was performed, and the board decided that those otherwise lovely Mutton Chops did not qualify because the category is specifically limited to those of the Pork variety.

I'll have to go with jagardn for classic barbecued appearance of the chop.

Another great competition! Lots of tough choices but I finally did it. I voted for myself the first 8 times and then threw the 9th vote to Rick for his succulent chop.

I thought you were making the point that a vote not for Shawn was a vote for Shawn: very shrewd of you. Could be that both Jeorge AND Shawn may owe you a beer for this one vote!

His cat choked to death on my pet goldfish. I've had that goldfish since I was a child. Nothing can console me. A win might bring some cheer to my day, but nothing will ever replace poor Goldie.

RIP Goldie!

I've got to go with Cracklin Jeorge.

First, I can't justify voting for a pork chop unless it is cut open to reveal the inside....as I can testify.....many pieces of meet look great on the outside but are either dry or uncooked on the inside. +1 for opening it up.

Second, of the chops which were cut open, Jeorge's looked the juiciest. +2 for juicy.

Third, although the sides really (in my opinion) shouldn't come into play, if your sides look like chit, it distracts from the focal point. +3 for not having chitty looking side dishes.

Job well done (or medium) all.

I feel your pain bro. I'm sure Gill touched you in ways no other person can, especially knowing you. It's tough, but I know with additional votes from the Brethren, well will pull through this.

My Master has been captured by Hormel Commandos and I am currently trying to appease a semi-lobotomized genetic mutant and a number of orphans. It is a great deal of unnecessary stress for a laboratory assistant. The children at the orphanage are still very upset about Master's disappearance , but I am sure they would feel better if Master was able to win this throwdown.

As always, every entry looks delicious!

Desert Dweller got my vote. He used loin rib chops (my favorite) and the fat on the edge of the chop looks sooooo tasty!

Good job everyone!

Jeorge, ...if you're going to offer your supporters a beer, don't give them such a small one. Offer them something to quench their thirst!

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/random/IMG_4980-1.jpg

And if they don't like what you offer them, let them know that you've got lots of beer, in lots of varieties, from stouts, to Belgian or Scottish ales or wheats. And if they don't like beer, then let them know that you've got dry AND fruity ciders....and if they don't like cider let them know that you've got both strong mead and sparkling mead, all lovingly made and waiting to be shared.

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/random/IMG_4976.jpg

And that it's just scattered about the house. :icon_blush:

Yes, I tried to get married in Bruges some 15 years ago. Unfortunately, we were told that they changed the law a couple months previously so that only locals could get married there (my first encounter with EU over-regulation). That glass was an award for my bartending prowess. I think it's the best thing to serve Belgian-style ale in. Course we visited when we lived in Amsterdam, too.

It is a nice stash, too much for someone who only drinks one or two bottles a week. Nice to have a few more people to share it with. If you get tired of what Jeorge is offering, I'll let you come over and party with us
