Brothers,

David and Solidkick have asked me to design an ash pan that fits the Bandera. The only cost effective way to build one is to have flat sheets cut and bent sides. Problem is, that I don't have a metal bender, so I would have to get a sheet metal shop to bend'em and that ain't cheep in one or two's.

So the question is how many of you would buy an ash pan and what would be willing to pay for it, minus shipping. I will get bids from a metal bender once I know how many want one.

Designed an ash pan today, dropped the design of at a guy that has a metal bender at his shop and asked for a quote to build them in qty's of ten. Owner is out until next Wed. Will let you know and re-run the pole with the price.

Aren't the dimensions like 16x20?

Hell, look at this for $30. Each one is 14x17. You could slightly overly to 14x19.5, pop rivet or something, and have nearly full coverage.

I wasn't trying to shoot holes in your plan Al. I'm just seeing if I can save you time and effort if the mass produced stuff will work.

Al, what kind of metal are you thinking of using? I work at an HVAC shop. We have our own fab shop, I bent my own SS baffle there. We also have a spot welder.

Its heavy guage aluminum with a lifetime warranty.

So they keep replacing it every couple months.

Thanks Al for the poll.

If it doesn't work out, I'll just have one made locally. Like you said to me in chat, it may not be worth the time and investment. I really thought everyone would jump on this one, guess I was wrong.

It was a decent idea anyway. Good luck on your move to Arkansas.

Hello, your using the cookie sheets at 475 degree and nothing happens.

You think your getting more than 525 under all that ash?

Under, under, the coals brother... your blinded by the light.

$12. I'll take it.

Aluminum melts at 660 C. That's 1220 Fahrenheit. Might just work.
