Courtesy of TXhoosiers (aka Matt) I was provided with a calibration of my New Braunfels' temperature gauge. The results are as follows:
Reference Standard Dial
202.185 190
250.639 249
Pretty good. I clean off the contact (into the chamber) with an SOS pad before each burn.

I dunno, but there's some suspicious looking stuff oozing down the door there by the thermometer......

The post does do what I intended. Needs to be in table format. Basically, when the dial read 190 degrees it wa really 202 degress or when the dial read 249 it was really 250 and change. Meaning the guage was pretty accurate. The oozing is from behind the label.
