Robert Diaz of Tops BBQ commissioned a 3-D logo for his pit. This is 3
layers of welded 3/16" steel, 1/4" round bar all air brushed and hand
pin stripped with 6 layers of automotive grade gloss paint and finished
off with 304 stainless accents! It's truly a unique piece. It will
"float" approximately 1/2 off the surface of his pit when installed.
This is the progression of the project...

on the backside, I welded 4 - 3/8" threaded nuts so it can be bolted from the inside of the pit. It is going on a diamond plate cooker.
Thanks for all the compliments! This is something I'd love to do again for every team in the country

Would somehow incorporating strong magnets be an option if making holes in the pit was not desired or would heat fark up magnets (especially mounted on firebox) ?
would also consider some type of magnetic version for the vertical door...
Just thinking of options once I get the Klose..but I have no idea of what design I'd even consider just yet.

I can definitely look at all options since I am a custom business, I can make any type or mount type you would need. I do have access to some industrial type magnets if that is how you'd like to mount it. Keep it mind it's not a good anti theft mounting but other than that, I think it's doable.

These start around $150 but vary on size, complexity, materials and what sort of paint you want. Rob got a great deal on this one being the first one!

Wow! I haven't been here for a while. I have to say, Brian did an awesome job. I couldn't have asked for anything better. In fact, I wasn't even expecting this to be as nice as it did. Here's some more pics:

Mind stealing it? I encourage it! That's a talent that needs to be shown across the country.
