Okay, I just got the Brinkmann Smoke King Deluxe, their version of the Bandera, from Lowe's and put it together this past weekend. The construction is pretty good, the thickness of the metal is on par with the price range ($160-$240), and the paint seems to be very good quality. A few problems- the thermometer dial fell apart, I was shipped two left brackets when I needed a left and a right, and the grates and water pan were bent and chipped. My smoker came in a single box, but Brinkmann is now shipping them in two separate boxes, which I think would alleviate the problem of the bent and chipped parts. I fired it up this weekend to cure it, and the paint on the firebox didn't even blister- that's with 5 hours of heat. Hopefully it stays that way even after a good 12 hour cooking session.
