Our new category is...

"Super Bowl Party Food!"
http://larryfire.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/1_-another-good-finished.jpg
OK, so this pic isn't BBQ, but it was hard to find the right shot for this...

...as chosen by BobBrisket, the winner of the I'd Never Eat That!(Innards) Throwdown (http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76738)!

Here are the simple and unchanging list of rules for the BBQ Brethren Throwdown...

1) The dish must be Grilled or Smoked during the cooking process, or feature Grilled or Smoked ingredients in a prominent manner.
2) Entries must be cooked during the current throwdown period ( 1/29 - 2/7 ).
3) All pics (any number) must be submitted by Midnight Central Time on the night of 2/8.
4) Only one picture from one dish will be used for voting, so please specify which one you want used, otherwise I will choose and my decision will be final.
5) If you have any problems with any of the entries, believing them not to be qualified for any reason, please use the ***VOTE*** thread and exercise your power of voting against those entries. Any complaints posted in any Throwdown thread, or directed to me via any other means will be ignored.

The voting will begin Monday 2/8 after I submit the "Vote" thread and will run through Friday 2/12. All votes will be public.

Don't forget, you can still enter the Asian (http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76725) Throwdown until Sunday night 1/31 by midnight Central time.

Our next category will be decided by the winner of the Breakfast Throwdown (http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76918)!

Best of luck and even better eats to all!

I'm planning ribs, wings, MOINK balls, baked beans and potato salad. Probably will add a plain fatty, smoked sausage and pig candy to snack on before the ribs are finished. Go Colts

That sounds fair. We'll give an extra 24 horus for turn in making the turn in time by Monday night 2/8 at midnight Central time. That way those who pass out after halftime don't get cheated out of thier entry.

Good change to the entry deadline. Now, if you are still too by midnight on Monday, then, you probably had way too much fun after seeing your team win or too much from seeing em lose!!:-D

Just cleaned out a little freezer space and made a nice snack for the game. Congrats to New Orleans on their win. I like both teams and didn't have a preference but really enjoyed watching it. Great game.
Thawed some burndt ends from last July's cook, boiled the bag in water, thawed some Swedish meatball and dusted with Blues Hog rub, thawed some nice meaty wings that marinated in Italian dressing for 4 hours and nice coating of Yardbird. Thawed some precooked shrimp just for a refreshing side. Thawed some twice baked taters (these things are great to have around in the freezer) and then added some fruit for the sweet flavors. Nothing fancy and the rum might have influenced the picture taking...oh well. Food was great. It's all good and no need to sit on the sidelines.

Hi All,
Didn't want you to think I'd forgotten. Master and I (Gore) got buried under 30+" of white stuff on Friday, lost power, lost phone, lost all access to the civilized world (we do live in the suburban wasteland 15 miles north of the Capitol building after all). Last night our street was plowed, but still no power. I went into work to write Bigabyte to ask him to post my post-deadline entry to the Superbowl Throwdown. In actuality, I braved the roads to recharge the DS lites and Sony Readers for the girls, our cellphones and to pick up some coffee. I realize this is postdeadline and too late for the contest, but at least you know I tried to participate (Dog ate my entry mod). Hopefully, I'll be able to get the next entry submitted in time -- we are expecting another 10-20" and more power outages. My colleague was eventually blanketed:

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/IMG_1.jpg

On Saturday I prepared some chicken thighs and some beef shortribs using 3-2-1 in prep for the big day. Ribs were prepped with chili powder, mustard powder, garlic salt, pepper:

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/IMG_2.jpg

I also did some with BBQ sauce, but these were for nachos. Final rib shot:

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/IMG_3.jpg

The snow was much worse on Sunday:

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/IMG_4.jpg

Worst of all, we didn't grind enough coffee in preparation, so we became somewhat desperate:

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/IMG_5.jpg

Did a bit of baking on the Primo too:

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/IMG_6.jpg

Finally, ready for the big game. Of course we had no electricity, so all the prep work was done by candlelight. That is sharp white cheddar nachos with shredded beef brisket, topped with sour cream cilantro, and some sliced toms. Salsa was on the side:

http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/gvideen/IMG_7-1.jpg

Now the big question is does this count as another "0"?
