Hey all,
I had a good weekend. Saturday left out, went by a friends house where he had some apple wood. You know, "just a little". Half a truck load in a short box P/U. Went from there over to one of the boss's house. They were cleaning up the neighborhood from an ice storm. Had a truck load of alder they were going to burn, said I could just back up and take it. Spent a couple hours cutting up a big ol' alder tree in the boss' back yard. It's stacked in his back yard till it dries up a bit. Weekend after next he's got some logging buddies coming over and they will fell some more trees. Right where I stacked my wood up he's having them bring down 3 more trees for me to cut up and stack. Oh yeah, the guy I got the apple from. He's got a one ton tilt bed stake side truck I can borrow to haul all this wood to the house. By the time I'm done I could have 20 - 30 cords if I wanted. I'll probably stop at less than that.
Anyone need wood?
Also, while cutting I broke my chain saw. It's OK I inherited it from a guy who didn't want to fix it up the first time. Anyways, went to Sears. Wanted a Poulan 221 they had there. On the shelf for $149, told them on the web it was $139. He said sorry the one on the shelf was the last one he had, would I take it if he gave me 20% off. Damn tootin. Final cost $109. Only thing it was missin was the owners manual. I came home and printed it off the web.
So Saturday after next I get to use my saw on a bunch of threes. I'll get it warmed up and broke in with the alder I brought back from the boss'.
Once I get thee camera from work I'll get us some pictures, I got apple, alder, maple, and pear.
