Sir Porkalot BBQ Team - Tentative Comp. Schedule

Ok folks,

Working on our competition schedule for this year.
Since we are fairly new, we are not going to try to hit more than 4-6 comps this year (unless a lot of extra time & money fall out of nowhere :mrgreen: )

So here is the ones we are looking at -some sanctioned, some not.

Any input from other teams on which contests they like better than others?

March 12th - 13th: American Bass Anglers Tour - Gainesville, GA
May 7th - May 8th: Roman Roast on the River - Rome, GA (KCBS)
Jul 16th - Jul 17th: Carolina Foothills BBQ Cook-off - Gaffney, SC (KCBS)
Aug 6th - Aug 7th: Dillard Bluegrass & BBQ Festival - Dillard, GA (KCBS)
Aug. 20th - Aug 21st: Pigs & Peaches - Kennesaw, GA (KCBS)
Sept. 24th - Sept. 25th: Lake Oconee BBQ & Blues Festival - Greensboro, GA (KCBS)
Oct. 15th - Oct. 16th: Cherokee Pignic - Canton, GA (KCBS)
OR
Oct. 15th - Oct. 16th: Piedmont BBQ, Blues & Hash Bash - Abbeville, SC
Nov. 5th - Nov. 6th: Hog Happenin' Tar Heel BBQ Championship

If you havent cooked and gotten the application for Dillard, I wouldn't plan on attending this year. You could call Jane Tomlin about getting on the waiting list, but Dillard is basically invitation only.

The ABA contest looks like fun and I will be there this year.

I would recommend Thomaston FBA contest in March..that is a really fun contest with great bluegrass music.

If you dont cook in a trailer Shelby can be VERY cold.
