Is your primary goal for the injection to introduce deep flavor like a well seasoned marinade or to enhance internal moisture and natural flavor of meat &/or exterior seasoning ?

My main goal is to get more flavor deep into the brisket. My appearance scores and tenderness scores have been pretty good but my taste scores have only been ok. Looking to change things up.
Thanks for the replies.

Yep, top 3 at the Royal Invitational says a lot about a product. I heard Plowboys Bovine Bold and Butchers Brisket Injection was used on at least #1 and #2. Just sayin'.

Ok, which one of our Brethren owns Butchers?
You should all get a small percentage of the sales. I just purchased some as
a result of reading this. I MUST try it.
Oh, forgot: Thanks.

John, As it seems that we have similar taste, I went ahead and
ordered 2lbs of Kosmos' too...
You get the cut from Kosmos.

Butcher's product. I used to use another product but availablility and quality led me to switch. You can find the man himself in the Sales and Ventures forum.
In the interest of full disclosure, I consider David a friend. I got to spend about a day around him this past year, and learned a lot. He's earned my business. His product is quality, and he has the knowledge and experience to back it up.

I don't think Kosmos injection was out before the Royal last year so I can't wait to see where it stands this year. I heard Butchers, Plowboy, and Kosmo are going to be competing at Winter Q hear coming up so we'll see who's injection takes the cake.

What if none of them took top?

Then I would have to quit using 35 day aged black angus choice and spend $80.00 for Wagyu Prime. But in the mean time, I will use Butcher. Cost so much less and its puts you at the top. No international beef for me.

Chances are, most of the field will be using Butchers or Kosmos. I'm going to say 8 of the top 10 at least.

How did Myron do? This is getting old to me. You can win with any of these injections on any given weekend. To say it's all Butchers is bs. I know David and am not looking for a fight from anyone. But I know I've beat a bunch of folks butts using Fab. How come no one lays claim to that? Just as I have known a bunch of guys winning with Fab in the 2009 season.
My opinion is to try all 3 and work with what you think is best. These aren't magic injections. Just because you use one, doesn't mean you'll cook a magic brisket. You still have to know how to cook a brisket.
For full disclosure, I am on the FAB team. But it's getting old this story line about it is the only winning injection is Butchers.
As for the comments about not getting product and no responses from the FAB folks. I say bull. They had problems when the founder was ailing in health. Otherwise, they have been very responsive since. Give this family a break for having to deal with medical problems with the family.
Sorry for the rant, but it's getting old. Again, no slight to David. But when you get non-comp cooks commenting on it, it makes me scratch my head.

Haven't tried Kosmos yet and agree that Butchers is a great product. Agree with Scottie, I have had no problems with service from the Ingredient Store since that period when Joe Sr. passed away. Also don't forget Joe Ames was the original inventor of these 'umami' injections that have taken over Comp BBQ.

Joe was probably the one that brought them to the comp scene, but phosphate based injectionable marinades have been used in commercial settings for ages. We've been using a phosphate based injection for 10 years that isn't Butchers, FAB, or Kosmos. It was around long before we found it.

I agree with you Scottie in that there is no magic bullet. Brisket is a challenging cut. A friend and I were talking about this on Friday. You can look at Pitmasters and see three competitors using Waygu briskets. Two have done really well with them. One not so much. The point is, there's more to it than cooking Waygu.

Scottie makes some very good points. Here is a post I made on another forum about this very subject:
I have always zoomed in on all and any post that Mr. Ames made just hoping to learn from his knowledge and years of experience. For those that had a hard time getting your product from them sounds like his sons have that under control. I had only exchanged emails with him and missed the opportunity to get to set and visit with him. I'm sure I could have learned so much from him as we all could. Both products are to be injected to help with comp brisket, but both products are different in the breakdown, but work. I sure hope (but doubt if it will) be the last time people bring up the past that couldn't be helped. We are a small group of people and we need to not victimized one over another.
Thanks for your time and Scottie good luck this year and you know I completely understand what your saying.

Thank you David. You know I think nothing but the best of you and your company. You are a class act and am proud to say you have wooped my butt... Damn Stillwater... lol But realize, I will be back!!!
Try them all folks. Each will give you something different to the table. But let's not pretend this is the magic pixie dust that beginners are trying to find. Brisket is a very hard cut of meat to cook. One day it will click in your head. Trust me, as a non Texan or KC bbq guy. But it can happen and once it does, you will wonder what took so long to cook a awesome brisket. Still may favorite cut to cook. Just because I worked so hard to master it. But I will also say, that I am still learning it. Still have to impress 6 judges that you don't know and don't know their flavor. So some days you strike out and other days you hit the home run.
